I made the song and video over the past 5 days with a collection of fellow artists in quarantine here in Brooklyn, NY and everyone involved worked remotely and donated their time, including the radical and legendary mastering house, Sterling Sound to complete the song and video.

The origin of the project, happened last week when I heard someone on the TV say something about “staying inside” and like a typical dork music brain i immediately started hearing the BeeGee’s song “staying alive” in my head and naturally couldn’t get it out. I started with a simple protools session the bones consisting of- an analog drum beat from my classic stash, some plastic keyboards and my wurlitzer and then recorded a scratch vocal and sent that back and forth between the crew of musicians and engineers who totally aced it. And I made the video by collecting youtube footage. Mostly my favorite PSAs, classic Saturday Night Fever clips, and of course as many animals washing their hands as I could find. And I sent those over to the filmmakers who created the storyline through editing and fx and brought it to life!

In closing, we made the song and video for anyone who wants to use it freely as a PSA or even just a quick laugh for your audience on social media, etc.... Either way, I figure the more we can remind people to follow safety precautions like washing hands, and staying inside the safer we will all be, so feel free to share it around!
